WOYWW 310 - Kanzashi

Good morning good morning.
On my WOYWW today I have my attempts at Kanzashi.
Still very new to me but boy is it fun fun fun.
Thanks to you tube videos I think I am starting to get the hang of it.
I have a couple of hair clips and a brooch in the pictures.
Luckily I have 3 sisters and 7 nieces and these will be perfect recipients for my efforts lol
Thank you for looking :)

  6. I am in AWE of these beauties. I've never heard of kanzashi before, but the results you achieved with these hair bands are amazing. Simply stunning work.

Thanks for visiting me. You asked about the dresses on display in the first photo. When you have time, please go to my Previous Collaborations page, scroll down to 2010 when I document each dress. It was called Dress Up 2010. We made them each month. Most people made them out of paper and they were single sided, but, being a mixed media artist, I made mine so they could be viewed from both sides. They included fabric, paper, and other media. One month I used silk flowers to make the skirt of an outfit, so I didn't exactly follow the traditional form we were encouraged to use. Some months I made more than one. I also made all the hangers. Thanks for asking. Happy last Wed before the crop from #9.

  32. I'm n ot exactly sure what Kanzashi is (I'm guessing the folding of fabric/ribbon. . .I could go look it up, but I'm being lazy at the moment.) Anyway, your hair clips look so great with all the details you have on them. Beautiful!
